Does it really matter where it starts?

If these CDS products DON'T pay off, there will be NO further market for CDS products. If these CDS products pay off, the Banks will suffer. If these CDS products DONT pay off, their buyers will suffer.

When an event is so large, it cannot be insured against, witness the nuclear industry. No one can sue them nor can they get insurance. Think of it ?

IDSA has always avoided calling a Credit Event a default, I think their info is a smoke screen to beguile everyone.

MF GLOBAL went BK because they could not collect on the CDS. How many other entities will go BK when IDSA declares the Greek Settlement NOT DEFAULT?

There are many, many previous cases of foreign powers confiscating local assets until debt was repaid. In this case the EU is discussing sending “Financial Inspectors” in to make sure VAT is paid, and in the USA, citizen political control is terminated and replace by “FISCAL MGMT” firms. upcoming this week on whether to declare a default on the part of GREECE. If they declare a default the 5 largest US banks, who wrote 97% of the CDS's insuring this debt, will be openly insolvent.

If the Assn declares NO DEFAULT, those who attempted to insure their positions will be exposed.

what I got is this: If ISDA declares that an xx% haircut is NOT a default, the 5 US Banks that issued the CDS's to debt holders will skip away from THIS haircut scott free FOR NOW. Meanwhile the brokerages and others that have bought the GREEK Sovereign Debt and hedged their downside risk to create a lo-risk trade will now be exposed to bankruptcy and ruin for they will have NO insurance and no recourse. TRANSLATED = lotsa people gonna go belly up when / if ISDA declares NO DEFAULT. Bank issuers of CDS on this deal, will have dodged the bullet and cheated death this time.

Remember when MF GLOBAL flamed out, like a month before the markets cratered, as selling commenced.....hmm

Jim said this NO DEFAULT POSITION would be Bad for the Dollar, Good for Equities and Good for Gold, and I would add, once it runs its course of bankrupting a whole bunch of people BECAUSE, that admission of a HAIRCUT will mean destruction of liquidity and debt based money, and to that extent and MORE some form of QE will be used to replace that and patch the obvious holes in this ships hull. So what I'd possibly see is another Crater leading up to a fallout like Early October, and once the bankruptcy silliness is over, then a huge rally like from Oct to NOW.

Bottom line: Protect ALL your capital for there is an ill wind blowing right now and mischief is afoot.........

right now, in reply to my BUY signal of Dec 16, this is a reply, I like a SELL here on all non-PM stocks, straight out or simply a stop tightened to NO Looser than 3%, and an alert on MONETARY METAL MINER STOCKS, because a great number of my measures, are poised on the edge of cliff and the pre-market measures are going south in a bad way, and Asia is opening down in a significant manner. Take care to avoid all hazards including those with agenda's, and PROTECT ALL YOU CAPITAL.

I would suggest, that as Napoleon observed, the greatest danger looks to be when we think we are clear of impediments and obstacles, is the most dangerous time. What are the dangers ? Bears ? Lions ? To show you this I only need refer you to any customer of MF GLOBAL, to show you what even a pinprick of this weapon can do. Weapons of Mass Financial Destruction. Why ?

How ? Stealthily, when the US Congress changed the bankruptcy laws, there included a change allowing the Creditor to go directly to the Collateral of the debtor held in their custody regardless of the chain of title, somewhat the reverse of the “Slice & Dice” Mortgage Stew created in MERS. So now, my funds, segregated or otherwise held in the custody of a derivative issuing entity, can be directly seized as collateral – let me repeat “ DIRECTLY SEIZED AS COLLATERAL”. That means they got it, you don't, and you got NO RECOURSE !

Does that nail it down for you ? Whatever NOT in your physical possession can be seized as collateral if the entity you have it upon deposit with, has issued a derivative of that nature. You lose. Maybe you will take legal action. Maybe you won't. It will be a long time before its resolved. I doubt waiting will help much, as you will want, and may need that money NOW.

Do NOT depend upon verbal assurances unless you get hostages, and then only ones that will be reclaimed. Find organizations that do NOT endanger your assets, or keep them in places that do not run this risk.

I have a list of a “Bakers Dozen” of really hot, Hi-Energy Relative Strength stocks I could give you. What good would it do, to double your money in this next mean-time only to have it disappear in a MF GLOBAL like fiasco ?

Sure if you subscribe we can rock 'n roll throughout all the ups and downs, but will you watch your money go up in “smoke”? Best be safe in some physical item, if you can't find a way to keep your “entrusted” money safe, then don't entrust it to anyone but yourself.

Wow ehh? Who woulda thought that 6 weeks after the Dec 12 cross-over( usually a calendar quarter, but hey its an election year so everything is possible with every-one pumping......) of the rate that the world was consuming Short Term Treasury Notes ( less than 1 yr)(chart is upside down), that the RISK appetite started galloping.   Funny, when everyone is so depressed, no one wants to believe anything good. Good ? Well, it might be, for now we have the US in recovery, the CRASH in the Euro post-poned and everything looks rosy, well sorta....... Now it usually takes One Calendar Quarter for the changes to show up, but everyone was in a hurry this year as the Monsters are both big (US Election) and fast (Euro-Crash).   These monsters are not dead, not by a darned long shot, but right now, are temporarily at bay. For Now !!

          Is it a trap ? ? Yes it is in the long term sense that if you find yourself lulled into a false sense of security that "Everything is OK", you will eventually get hurt very badly. The EURO-Wars, what happens in the end, regardless

Shooting war or otherwise over the Euro, the essential End-Up here is that everyone gets ripped off.

Sounds very simple doesn't it. Read the fine print in the derivatives and it gives the creditor the right to seize the underlying collateral without any proceeds. Sound like a "Confession of Judgement Clause" ? It should because it is the same as. So when this is all said and done, it will end up that a majority of the currently productive assets on this planet will be concentrated in fewer yet hands.........Alarming, outrageous and disgusting, and the other 99.999% will struggle harder than before, perhaps to that ill-defined but finite limit where things turn over.

That's IT in as simple terms as we can muster. We are ALL Argentina + Greece + Libya. Read media from outside your country, read in between the lines.

IMO, my take is that this silly large cast production of getting the 30+ countries to agree in the Euro-Remediation process, is simply a stage show, compared to what is going on in the real world. From what I read, of people a lot smarter than me, combined with common sense, with or without war, this is what is likely happen.

A. The Euro Zone will continue to exist as a Free-Trade Zone, and countries taking part in it, may or may not have the Euro, or just may trade in their local currency.

B. Creditors will take "haircuts" or losses on their lending from 20% to 80%, and see new debt with lots longer dates swapped for old debt. They will do this in preference to triggering CDS's, which will happen but on a local, not global scale. Should CDS's be triggered across the board on a Global scale all bets are off.

C. Supra-National organizations like the EU will lose the ability to dictate to member states and trading partners.

It is probably going to take the specter of a living hell, THAT IS WAR, to make the EU & the other (30+) actors accept that fact that :

"A GOOD PLAN NOW IS BETTER THAN A PERFECT PLAN AT SOME INDEFINITE TIME IN THE FUTURE"

An old woman in Germany who had been thru WWII with her husband, a former SS Sgt. ( on the Eastern Front, of course, and whom survived it) told me how bad it had been for her, and I hope there are elders and seniors amongst us all to give us that sage advice, that war is NOT an option.

Lastly, Hope is NOT a strategy and it will take commitment and nerve to get through this. Also its IS GOING TO HURT. To survive we have to get over the NANNY STATE idea that no one gets hurt. NO CAN DO !

Seems like that is a word we hear in the far-off distance, from the politicians and talking heads, but does not relate to our daily lives, ......so much, ..........yet

Such a nice clean but mean sounding word, yet it is a lot dirtier than one first thinks.

AUSTERITY = not a nice clean word for saving money but a description of your life going down the toilet, for reasons beyond your control:

Middle-aged people who thought they would be unemployed for a few months have realised that they were, in fact, forcibly retired ! SACKED in other words, never to realize anything remotely approaching what they once had.

We so often hear this word bandied about without any comprehension of what it really means. I mean, hear is a very sterile definition of the word:

Gee that doesn't sound too bad, not really awful, at least not yet.
As good as the definitions are, I think the Synonyms are more illuminating -> : Synonyms: severe, authoritarian, flinty, hard, harsh, heavy-handed, ramrod, rigid, rigorous, stern, strict, tough.
So logically, when austerity is present and a policy in YOUR country, that is what you can expect.
Hmm, not a darned thing in that seems very appealing at least, not IMO.

BOTTOM LINE: What happens in GREECE won't stay in GREECE!

SO what is your reality going to be:

1/ When your youngest has a fever and needs asprin ? ;

2/ When your unemployed for over 26 weeks and no job prospects ? ;

3/ You Find you can't make payments on a place to live ?

WHAT WILL YOU DO ? NOW ? LATER ? Too later ?

I KNOW IT CANT HAPPEN HERE, BECAUSE IT ALREADY DIDNT HAPPEN TO ME, AT LEAST NOT #1. Numbers 2 & 3, yes it has happened. It was resolved, but it was not fun.

I think that some reduction, some pain, some sacrifice CAN NO LONGER BE AVOIDED.

OK that said, are we all “scared to death” ? NO, probably but we ought be concerned some !

IMO, politicians who tell you it's not going to be too bad, are in fact LYING to you to “chill you out” and get your vote. A politican who TELLS you it will require real pain and real sacrifice and asks your participation in these decisions, may, in-fact be the one you have to trust with this future. Without these changes, IMO there is little future except misery at the hands of the VampSquid and its money-changer accomplices.

YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

A few points to keep in mind

The financial markets are in transition. as they change, they are hard to gauge as the players and their motivations change. Further there becomes a strange hybridizaton as a lot of the trading moves off established markets into areas not easily monitored as are stock quotes, so some of the results look different and old patterns do not easily match what we see.

Writing has slowed as I pondered the results, long term, of economic retrenchment are not often clearly printed in the American press, for the reasons that their content is, in-fact, censored by prior restraint of editors afraid to disturb what they think the "Status Quo" wants. This article in the Guardian demonstrates this very clearly and articulately tells the story many Americans have experienced but not been able to put into words as well as this article does...LINK to UK Guardian article............. the phrase that hit home with me was the subtitle to a picture -->> "Middle-aged people who thought they would be unemployed for a few months have realised that they were, in fact, forcibly retired.", that in-fact they had been SACKED and had only the faintest hopes of regaining any of their former economic status. Most white collar Americans don't yet know how to accept the fact of being SACKED, a lesson so well already learned by their blue collar counter-parts. More of concern is how the political establishment will attempt to demonize these displaced workers, which OCCUPY WALL STREET so forcibly called attention down upon, while spotlighting the Elite who in fact are at the bottom of this ( the Vamp Squid typles seeking their bonuses from "Riskless Trades").

I was ALMOST shocked to see the "dithering about" so oft referred to as Europe seemed paralyzed by a crises that was and is still sucking them into the vortex leading to the BLACK HOLE of Global Financial Systematic Failure. I used to think American politicians were the most crass and foolish, but I see they are in fact, miles behind their European counterparts........... So as I see this next step down in Financial Cyclical Behavior ( cycle chart published early). I sincerely think that this next bottom will be the signal of impending Greek default and a shock for the Euro, from which the markets will robustly rally, realizing they are in and have been in the ABYSS since October 2 which is when I think the bottom of a serious rally was made.

I see the drop in the Liquidity within LQD to be a good indicator of the tidal flow of funds into and out of the markets. The two black lines represent the movement of the Ratio Adjusted Summation Index of Advances minus Declines to date, which seem to lag the flow-of-funds by about two weeks ( we use 10 days on the daily data).

Given that I am making sure I have some buying power at the (GREEK DEFAULT ANTICIPATION BOTTOM).

The DEBT SUPER CYCLE IS NOT GOING AWAY, BUT RATHER COMING TO THE END OF ITS ROTATION, and likely going out with a BIG BANG !!

The politico's and their lapdog economist and statistical manipulators try to shower us with nice facts and tell us its going to be OK, and wont hurt.......Did anyone ever lie when they said “THIS WON't HURT” ?

We run the T-charts and they show that the Euro-Markets are showing us at the edge of the cliff of Catastrophic System Failure, orders of magnitude later than the previous LEHMAN crises.

Like baking a cake we cannot go back to an earlier stage of this deal. We may have to “VOLCKER” our way out, to try to recycle and thus reset to an earlier stage.

As in the “29^th DAY” and the BANG MOMENT by Cochrane, we can recognize the exact instant confidence is lost. That is the moment a HyperInflation begins. We can recognize it but not pinpoint it in advance.

At that BANG MOMENT, even for the USA, the math does not work.

If massive currency is printed, the true value of all that in circulation, falls, as confidence drains faster than providing new currency and credit can shore it up.

Out of the 200+ times this happened historically and globally it was NEVER DIFFERENT. Canada, Sweden, Argentina. No the last one may not surprise you, and in fact they are still the “walking wounded” but Canada and Sweden got it together, “VOLCKERED IT UP” and emerged in one piece. Not unscathed, for there will be PAIN from hard choices. The answer to a diabetic's problem is NOT more sugar......neither is debt a solution for a debt problem.

The governments are drunk in unlimited borrowing and now the hangover is setting in. Ironically, the private debt is the least of the problems facing us now.

WAR, the undeclared 2 decade war in Vietnam was one of the catalysts for a huge failure in US Finance policy to borrow instead of tax to run that war. Now we are in hip deep doing exactly the worst things we could do in the ROW, ala Vietnam.

While the US still has wiggle room to make some viable choices, like the “29^th DAY”, time will run out before you know it........... When Banks like Unicredit and SocGen take a 40%+ haircut on their stock, you know

The fuse is lit, if only still smoldering in Europe but it WILL EXPLODE ala Lehman (TIMES) (X) Orders of magnitude into a GLOBAL FINANCIAL SYSTEMS FAILURE.

Since they are politicians, by defination, they cannot make the right decision which is to disengage the cycle, yes War Ever, Forever Indebted and all, yes. Yet we see a very clear buy signal as the RED LINE decisively Break Out above the BLUE line in our depiction of the $CDNX exchange, rife with its junior natural resource issues............ Just a reminder that
NOTHING HAS REALLY CHANGED.

Marginal Vehicles go "Twitchy" First

Generally its the smaller boats the pick up the feel of the waves before the bigger ships can sense it, so here is a picture of the CDNX, the Canadian Venture Exchange, with mostly Junior Mining and Energy Issues forming a majority of the listings.

THUS I think it curious as we are getting the liver scared out of us by the drops in the Monetary Metals Complex, and yet, the VENTURE Exchange is trying to form up in a preliminary BUY formation, which would be completed once those two lines PURPLE and GREEN cross over in side that circle........... It bears watching.

That's my take and that is one of the charts I am watching - NOTE, the MACD Cross over is about to occur on the BOTTOM PANEL, my Grapix Program had a bit of an accident............LOL

Because I am asking myself how much they are going to have. Ironically, the supply situation is a bit screwy.
Sometimes savvy buyers clean out all the good stuff, leaving garbage, at the bottom, while the panic that drives John Q Public, also cleans out the good stuff first when the upswing is on.

The other problem appears is that when Paper prices are slammed and we try to
STACK The SMACK(down), we do run up against minimal supplies, so FWIW, I will survey the area and see what I can find. These reasons are why I don't mind the paper prices when I am seemingly "underwater" because I find the Supply situation validates my concern that silver is getting harder to obtain.

Just like 1947, it will be a Long March until we exit this PM exile, but we will and better for it, IMO.

Its certainly easy enuf to see the THREE (3) purple arrows at the 292-295 region that imply Support and in fact can form a Double if not a Triple Bottom in the Commodity Index.........

Now add in the fact that the Downside Objective for the CRB was SATISFIED by this drop to 295 or so....
So now it doesn't mean this is "cut and dried", and ALL CLEAR, but it is a start, perhaps a base..........
so again it looks more like a bottom than a top to me, FOR NOW.............lets now add something SCARY.

      Here we see a longer term (weekly) Point & Figure chart of the CRB done in an Averaged Configuration called AVERAGE TRUE RANGE, which uses the average of 20 periods as a box size for our work here.
SCARY because its next upside objective projection is for almost 603 on the CRB, more than double our current level.   So if the De-flation guys are freaking you out, just show them THIS chart.......LOL.

Now what does it mean?   We know for sure it means I know how to use the Time "Periods" and
"Scaling Method" on WWW.STOCKCHARTS.COM Point & Figure charts.
That's what we know for sure.   ME? What I know, in my work and in my gut ? I "know" that deflation is a lot more temporary than the inflation we are being told is "temporary".   Any "deflation" that is real, will come at the end of this saga, not in the middle. And IMO, we are likely in the middle but beyond the point of no-return. I think the "29th Day" in the Saga of the Lilly's in the Pond, has been reached and breached.

Soooooooo, does that look like a TOP or a Double Bottom in this Daily, year long chart of CRB ?

All the news about GOLD Is Bad NEWS, so BUY, see this for yourself

On Thursday, my dual MACD lines, Red and Blue posted a buy signal in the GDM Sentiment Index. The FASTER of the MACD measures (RED) has cut thru the SLOWER of the MACD Measures (BLUE), to the upside. It is now confirmed by the Banded Oscillator on the Upper Panel, and awaiting confirmation from the conventional MACD on the bottom panel. Does this mean Gold WILL take off to the upside ? NO, it means we are seeing a significant signal of strength in GOLD's TREND, and must wait for it to develop. HOWEVER: We note that in an arithmetic chart of the $GDM, we are in a TRIPLE Bottom showing considerable support (2nd Chart)

So this concerns GOLD MINER STOCKS, Gold being the secondary play here.

The GREEN Arrows show the Points of the Triple bottom in the $GDM ( GOLD thick Dashed Line) above.

As you can see on EITHER chart, there is clear evidence of a Triple Bottom in the 1400 area.

What is pretty neat about the above chart is that it clearly shows a trading zone btwn 1467 and 1433, with a Reversal Zone @1433, which IF breeched, probably signals a down move. BETTER than that, if 1467 is DECISIVELY breeched to the upsides, it would be a Mini-Quad-Top Breakout which would signal a potential move to the 1580 area, which, AGAIN, IF surmounted WOULD TAKE OUT Resistance all the way to the ALL-Time-High of 1855, a fairly impressive set-up, perfectly counter-intuitive to all the news out there. Typically it would be a 3 to 2 bet AGAINST, were it not, IMO, for the beginning of strength shown by the preliminary BUY signal of the Dual MACD measures, awaiting #2 Confirmation by the Convential MACD.

While I like betting Odds-On, I don't like betting "The Crowd", and I don't like crowds when it comes to analysis, being more comfortable doing the math myself, for myself. I do best when I follow my own stars......

If change is constant and " the more things change, the more they stay the same" holds true, then the upward bias PLUS the cyclical motion in the TRIX twin lines, what do I think will happen?

I think things will stay the same, on the same plane of upward bias, aided by the cyclical motion revealed by the TRIX.

That's my story so far, no matter how hard "THEY" try to "PAINT the TAPE".

The width of the channel is based on the high or low that is the furthest from the linear regression. The trend is up as long as prices rise within this channel. An uptrend reverses when price breaks below the channel extension. The trend is down as long as prices decline within the channel. Just what is going on?

lets look at what is going on in REAL SILVER, not paper silver. This is the Silver Bullion Trust, mate to CEF, certified bullion storage in Canada. Looks a bit diff than the Comex charts of the "Paper Silver", so to get an idea of what silver should be selling at, simply X 1.5 and you get a rough number. So now theoretically you could buy silver, physical silver at about 29+ per oz, USD. Now lets look at the available means of getting and holding Silver in a readily negotiable form, say 1 oz Govt Issues Coins, specifically American Silver Eagles, and Canadian Silver Maples. For about a 13-17% premium over the calculated price say, either SBT X 1.5 or attempting to use the Comex price. Perhaps I am looking at U$D 33.75 @coin ( 1 oz), which is not unreasonable. So now, if we see the "worst case scenario" of about U$D 24 per Oz, or a Coin price of about U$D 28-29 so if you buy all the way down, you "could" be down $4 per coin, but have the PHYSICAL, so for me that is an acceptable potential (not realized)(temporary) asset pricing.

Considering that there is an on-going degradation of COMEX delivery, and increasing musical chairs as to how the main bullion banks are shuffling to meet delivery, this is a reasonable cost of insuring yourself, and having a seat in the speculative pit when the next Silver crazy train pulls out. I think the perceived risk of all the "Induced Volatility" is in-fact, not real risk, its probably as irrelevant as the variations in consuming rye bread part of the time and whole wheat bread at other times. We have a current monetary system of Fiat/Legal Tender Paper money, and a fledgling circulating Monetary Metals system alongside each other, and in fact one is a very good transactional medium while the other is an excellent medium at retaining value. If you look at some countries such as Vietnam and India, you see the same thing in operation. I like to buy things, but I don't like my money to lose its purchasing value over time, so I use both systems. Might we all ?

A number of investors were howling today they had been stung in the Energy and Agricultural sectors, and part of it was true, bad trouble they say. Well, I dont know any other kind of trouble but bad trouble so I take that with a grain of salt(pun intended). Lets look back to 2001.

We see the REAL commodity Index,not the one Goldman Sachs reshuffled, divided by S & P 500( to account for the WEALTH Index), and look at where WHAT WE BUY COSTS has gone. Pretty scare.
Seven Billion people on Planet Earth, which has about 4 Billion of those souls right there in ASIA. Now, growth is happening in ASIA, and shrinkage in the R.O.W. ( rest of the world). That drags us right along with them as far as having to pay more for necessities. As a result costs rise, and friction of production increases, and REAL PROFITS in investment markets lag, falter, and drag, as is born out by the similar chart of the S&P 500 as divided by the very same CCI, commodity index. This shows the 100 % negative correlation to the REAL VALUE of investments.

and this is why we feel pretty lousy. We could rationalize that this was the issue of commodities and even gold or silver would not have helped preserve our purchasing power, so lets examine that as well

And yet we get the conclusion that GOLD outpaced cost increases by a large margin. So GOLD was quite price, spendy and a bit out of reach, so what could we do anyway........... WHAT COULD WE DO ? ?

WE COULD and STILL CAN BUY SILVER. Aces (American Silver Eagles) & Queens ( Canadian Silver Maples) could be your winning hand, as many of each as you can get.....as may as make sense for you.
So now its time for shopping. And tomorrow I will try to get a new post about LINES IN THE SAND.

Is this a seach and rescue mission ongoing or are we merely looking for financial bodies ? The money that MF was supposed to have is gone missing and probably sliced and diced like a sub-prime mortgage of recent note.

Seems to me, with the CDS, CDO's and all alphabet instruments in mind, at best we are in for the "JAPAN MALADY". -> likely longer than 5 yrs, maybe 10 maybe 20.

Armstrong might be right that the money flows from the bond market into the stock market and makes it skyrocket, as my data occasionally hints at as well, BUT the reform of this system has past possible and now we are on a "Recovery Mission", IMO.

Review past BK's and how they kept the smiling face on it to the last. That's the model. I'd be securing my bets and only playing in markets with poker or gambling money UNTIL and IF we see the ARMSTRONG MODE kick in.

Right now at the rate they are stealing and slicing and dicing customer funds, I'd be interested to see if the ARMSTRONG MODE every happens. If so, I'll enter ever so lightly. If not, I have my physical............

Precious and Monetary Metal Mining Stocks are still stocks with all the baggage that stocks and specifically mining stocks bring, so timing and selection + agility are paramount, as is savvy.

Since you could own them legally as savings anchors for your family, you need realize that they now go for $22 & $23 respectively including the coin premium. Author Note, Today we speak of Maples and ASE's in the 35-40 dollar area, at local coin shops.

Since interest rates have tended downward during that time, to approach ZERO on any funds deposited while all your basic items purchased increased in price, as the value of your Federal Reserve Notes stayed static, you would have been at a terrible economic disadvantage only holding banknotes, greenbacks or cash.

Saving for something, means, IMO, you must save something of value to later have the value that you were saving for. If the price of what you were saving for, increased faster than your savings value, it would have been moving backwards economically despite the increasing numerical value of your savings.

SO THE REAL TRUTH is NOT "DONT LOSE MONEY", the REAL TRUTH is "DONT LOSE VALUE".

So if you had a $10K Certificate of Deposit, denominated in Canadian or US dollars in 1990, it would have bought you 2000 American Silver Eagles or Canadian Silver Maples. Today, that same certificate would buy you 444 of them, so the value of your savings would now be about 4.5 times greater than where you started. Lets compare compound interest. Had you had $10 K on deposit, over the same period @ an average of 5% compounded it would have returned 2.7 times its face.

In reality, you must ask yourself what kind of risks you take, when offered "Deals" on savings. I do think the real value is in thinking for yourself.

Ok, lets look. Last night I thought I'd find equivalent Laptops down in price from 2 mo ago. WRONG, UP, prob due to Chinese Yuan pricing. OK, now to to snow tires, Not quite double from 2 yrs ago. Car Battery -> On sale, $87. Whats wrong with that pix? 3 yrs ago, I thought $59 was outrageous. Hardware store, nails to hang pix, $4 bux, double 2 yrs ago. Wifes clothes shopping, up about 20% for the same items NOT on sale at Walmart. MY INDEX IS UP. Oh grocery store ? You dont want to talk about that or go there, no way Jose. Remember when wheat spiked and came back down HALFWAY ? -> Look at your bread prices now. Buy some beef, pork or chicken and see what you think.

Now I know we are told these are "Temporary" Increases, but the problem is that I am paying for them with fiat that PERMANENTLY leaves my wallet, so its permanently distressing to my budget.

Technical Analysis can no more forecast the markets, than a dolphin can tell which way your boat turns before you turn it. Let me say it again, Technical Analysis can no more forecast markets, than a dolphin can tell which way your boat turns before you turn it. Quote me on that each and every time you wish, please !!

What I do with Technical Analysis, in just a few forms of its infinite variations is DETECT CHANGES. Changes in any number of measures you , yes YOU can create using formats like I did in the previous post, which I then use to attempt to figure out what time it is in any given stock or market. As you have seen me divide the qualities ascribed to two kinds of oscillators, in another division of labor it is the job of Fundamental Analysis to attempt to set scenarios of what MAY happen if various fundamental situations come about, A, B, C, et cetera.

So what I attempt in my TA is Detection, then assessment, then determinant. You and I know if it is spring, things grow easily. We know what crops grow in the winter. It is no simpler than that, and anyone who attempts to portray that it is so, IMO, is a charlatan.

Like John Wayne, (Marian Morrison) said : "Life is tuff, tuffer if your stupid", to which I add, and worse yet if your lazy.

When I bumped into LQD it was using it as a second part in a two part Liquidity Measure

and over time, I found it useful to track money representative of that which comes in and out of the money, oft on a cyclical basis. So its LQD, and here is the link to its Yahoo Profile LQD . IT tracks the price of Investment Grade bonds in an I-Shares configuration. So I use it a lot as a base measurement. To help me track the flow of money into and out of LQD, I use the measure known as Chaiken Money Flow, whose definition can be found here -> CMF here on the Stock Charts.Com site. The third item I use building this chart, is Mr.Nasty©, or $NASI which for lack of a better description is the 39 DMA of the cumulative advances and declines of the NASDAQ market. It is often described as being composed somewhat different but that it is the 39 DMA of advances minus declines ( breadth ) is the short answer.

On the chart below, we have the SLOPE(20 periods) of CMF of LQD plotted with the actual LQD price as Invisible , so you can develop a sense for how fast or slow the inflow of funds is coming into or ebbing from LQD via the CMF.

I have to give credit to an assistant of mine, simply observing that the CMF was like the blood pressure of a stock, so therefore, the SLOPE is kinda like the Green Line on the screen of the oscilloscope that beeps when you flatline.

Since $$ are the precursor of volume, and volume tends to drive price, these measures while directly linked to market moves, have variable lead times. To track how these inflows or outflows impact the more general market, I use Mr.Nasty© as a background check, lead time considered to see if we have direction right. Thus as you see I have also used the SLOPE(BLUE) for MR.NASTY© ( RED dashed half-tone line), with the BLACK line of the LQD CMF SLOPE showing us how fast or slow the money was coming into or out of LQD.

Bascially these guys are in formation, going down but entering a space where they slow down previous to changes or reversals. The phrase I remember and work with is "Neutrality Pre-Sages Change" and so I look for places where neutrality is manifesting and reversals can begin to appear.

So this is the kind of "SIMPLE" Chart that I like that conveys a lot of information, and the interpretation is pretty straight up -> When the money flows back into the market, LQD goes up and the rest of the market will likely go up as well. Here is where I look for changes if and as they occur.

So, combined with a bunch of other charts, this is how I am developing the feeling I want to position for this market, both Gold and Silver Miners as well as others, before it actually goes up. I get to be early at times but I am ok with that.............

This is what is left over, after some theoretical work of "NETTING" and swapping out EuroZone Countries debts against each other, and it is dramatic when compared against the old picture. What it does not take into account is the individual debt-holder and debtor entity, but they would be at that point, internal,and not contribute to the confusion that now reigns.

You and I know that something like this must come about or the 17 countries of the Euro Zone will fall into a heap, a writhing mass of self absorbed countries in which things become worse by an order magnitude as each period of time goes by.

Why you ask has this not happened yet/. WELL for one ask yourself cui bono in reverse, who not profits but loses ? All the people who sell and administer debt entities. If you said BANKERS your right. Maybe Billy Shakespeare was wrong when he said "Kill all the lawyers." Maybe he really would have meant BANKERS had he seen the upshot of all this.

So if you ask a politician this, anywhere in the world, and they tell you "IT WON'T WORK", I'd be tempted to ask them what it would take to make it work, up to and including their exit from power, and their covert supporters as well.

Seems to me, if we don't make something like this work, we are all gonna be screwed like the frog in the pot where they raise the heat of the water gradually
one (1) degree at a time ( C or F, I dont care), until we are all boiled alive.

I think its time to WEAR BLACK MONDAYS, and demand an end to this destructive little crap game that allows BANKERS to screw the rest of humanity.

Given the military principle of “Concentration of Forces” the forces opposing higher specie metal and commodity prices fight a rear-guard action based on initiative, concentration of forces and coordination of forces, air power ( comex paper), artillery ( media ) and boots on the ground ( physical purchases).

In a military metaphor this lays out perfectly. The big picture is the forces in opposition to higher (real) commodity prices are fighting a delaying rear guard action, well supplied but on the retreating side. Using initiative, coordination of forces and interior lines of communication, they are able to achieve "local superiority" to achieve "local breakthroughs"

Now go back to 2001 and look at the progress of this. As many times as "local superiority" has been used to achieve "local breakthroughs", these in fact, are nothing but spoiling counter-attacks with no real hope of stemming the tide nor gaining the objective of subduing commodity prices, unless they do a "M-A-D" nuclear scenario of Mutually Assured Destruction. While it is a real threat, it will be by miscalculation rather than bravado, if it might come to be.

Looking at more of this, after the Counter-attacks achieve their “local superiority” to achieve their “local break through”, they do a limited advance to try to “spoil” attacks by breaking up formations or destroying supplies or transport hubs, and thus gain more time.

However that comes at a cost. In this case it is the cost of supplies they cannot replace in terms of “Boots on the Ground” and that is what the peasants come in and take, in this case the physical supplies of precious specie metals that are then absorbed by an aware public, thus exerting area and supply denial to the counter-attacking forces, and limiting their reach as they pull back further each time, witness the advance in price of both commodities and specie metals since 2001.

For people holding their speculation assets in physical form like specie bars of precious metals or coins, resources stocks NOT on margin, this is in fact a good time. Just like the civilians that witness these “successful” counter-attacks, they know there are spoil goods to be had from the retreating forces and forage accordingly. I dont know if it will take more riots to get their attention, but to exit this while the system still functions, some had better sit up and take notice quickly.

Now for the rest of us, unpolitically priveledged or connected are continious decision points where we have to work out way through this maze.

Basically it works out like this: To survive this Plague of Paper (money) which is a great transfer medium, but is lousy at holding its value, we must find things of value we can anchor our financial worth fast to, in this storm. If you use "STUFF" everyday in your job or biz, you might do all you can to secure a supply of it.
If you can, stash forward the stuff you use and eat everyday, in so far as possible, for financial hedging.

Yes that's an old gold dredge located out the Steese Hiway in Chatanika, Alaska, left in place after WWII, when the dredging was discontinued. Well it all looks pretty simple. Like Jack Chan said in
"KARATE KID" when asked about rules, as such:

"...Rules simple ! You hit him ! You not him hit you !"
So elegantly simple, yet so difficult to execute.

Thus the diagram on the left is quite clear, vis-a-vis either NFL or sandlot football. This is a Strong Right I formation, with one Tight End on the left is going to run a FLAG pattern, and the wide receiver on the right is going to go down field 8 yards as if a FLAG pattern, and then cut across the middle to run a POST Pattern. Both the Running Backs are going to form a pocket so the Quarterback can work his magic with the ball.

Now lets go to a less clear option, taken from a similar situation.

Same form, different composition, on the next diagram.

It is about deception.   Who has the ball, and where they might they actually take the football, and how.

NOT TOO DIFFERENT THAN TODAY !!

Lets hide the ball ( market intentions), lets fake its whereabouts by misdirection ( get the most investor dollars we can away from them), and lets move into an area where there is no opposition ( sector rotation, overcoming price resistance or any other trick).   The trick has always been that you have to be smarter than the animal your trying to train !!

We are at almost 1370 $USD for GOLD and 78 on the USDX, both notable, 1370 for the resistance on GOLD and 78 for the USDX.   Seemingly, Gold MUST Decline,& US DOLLAR MUST advance.!     Now look at the position of all the equities, as the bond market is bleeding. BACK to Gold and the US Dollar. So Gold will decline, right? Right ~ BUT !   Lets look at the next graphic

So gold can drop. No question. Where can it go? Well so far, gold has gone down to within 1.4% of its target, 1290 which is figured on P & F charts.
To me that is as good as achieving the objective.

Now go back to the BRADLEY Chart
which identifies a window around 2/17.
Note I say a window, as the people who formulate it, call for +/- 2 days on either side. Remember, BRADLEY does NOT specify direction or amplitude, merely CHANGE. Well judging from global hits on this blog, there is a lot of interest in this.

while I do my scans and assessments, collecting stock information nightly, I noticed on Jan 25 that several of my unique indicators were giving UPTREND SIGNALS at times the markets were plunging and panic-stricken.

Charts are helpful but the analysis is HUMAN DRIVEN, using the "weight of the evidence" approach which makes it a bit easier to be objective when all about you are losing their heads, figuratively and financially.

Looking at the Bradley Chart we see a virtual "CLIFF-DIVE" from 2/3 [ today] to 2/17, but again, its about CHANGE, not direction, not amplitude, and yet there is this huge Up-Ramp from 2/17 until 7/29, so what shall we do?   We take up positions "IN ANTICIPATION" because that is what speculators do, SPECULATE, to observe and act on the potential extrapolated results.   What we do is measure the markets and implement MIMIC Behaviours.

    Look at the seasonal crude chart above. It shows a seasonal bottom in the Feb-Mar area, with a subsequent climb into the summer. Now that is seasonal. How about a BLACK SWAN. OK, how about Tunisia. Who expected a 30 revolution, over and done with? Can we predict BLACK SWANS? Likely not, or at least I dont try. Can we prepare for BLACK SWANS? Yes.   HOW? This chart is puzzling to many, so let me stop a minute and explain how it helps me.

Just a word here. This is star-driven, constellation mapped chart. It is, simply,
part of what they guys who do financial astrology do, even though they consider it very elementary.

I observe it and its gyrations because, at times it seems to identify time windows during which things we don't see, happen.
Two years ago when the negotiations for the demise of the Indy Mac Bank were ongoing, the index hit a low, formulated the year before. Whether it was Bear Stearns or any number of other events, I find this chart useful. If it bothers you, then I apologize.

First lets understand, the LINE does NOT represent TRUE DIRECTION. The Line may be negatively or positively correlated to occurs, but its movement equals movement, and heavily trended areas will as likely heavily trended. The next thing to understand, is AMPLITUDE. This meaning that a super high on the chart may or may not correspond to a a SUPER High or a SUPER Low, but rather a TURNING POINT.

Therefore this kind of "roadmap", if you will allow that kind of reference, is about TURNING POINTS in TIME, as envisioned by the writers. Not a lot different than prophesy, for those of us who have not been prophets, havent gone through the process, cannot say how it comes or what form it takes.

I must say I was amused to hear subscribers tell me that they NEVER heard of the companies I feature.
     Sadly, there is much out that that is "supposed" to be new new and original that by that measure, cannot be first into stocks that become "Stars" because the leverage of Discovery is GONE !.
That "Discovery Leverage" goes first to the ACTUAL people who do the Discovery. Is it the drillers, the lab, the contractors, or support people who either know a good bet when they see it or hear the scuttlebutt of those that do. The "Usual Suspects" group of insiders and promotors actually dont get to know about this stuff, until after its "DISCOVERED" and the info is now in the hands of the discoverers. So the "Usual Suspects" like "Insiders" are actually Second In Line. Given all the hoopla that the Big Letter's put forth, they fail to tell you that they put you at LEAST Fourth or Fifth in line to getting the BEST STOCKS. Not FIRST, but no higher than FIFTH at best. Sad to say, as funny as it was to me, that YOU are paying 2 to 4 times what I charge for stock selections that have already been worked over by four levels before, WITHOUT ANY REGARD FOR PROVIDING YOU WITH DECENT TIMING AT ALL.

Sad when you consider I am one lone technical analyst running on 40 years of experiences of the bumps, bruises and scars the markets and well fed letter writers could impose on me. In a sense, the remaining N.American Potash Juniors/Developers are not too different than were the few remaining free-ranging bison of the late 19th Century in North America.

Found on the Plains an Prairies of the West, but known in the East as well, they provided Food for the people. Now, with Potash, it is and will be global food for the people
The Multi-Mineral Supra-National Corporations are hunting.   The Canadian Govt, in a spate of nationalism, quashed the potential take-over of Potash Corp by a MMSNC, but let POTASH One, get hitched to a German firm, K & S. Hmm?    How many Juniors are out there now?   Whom are worthy ?   Who will be left ?   And whom will make a run for it and who will stand and fight a lo-ball take-out?

As much as the heartburn hurt watching these Juniors languish, it was obvious in the rising tide of global food production, that a time of PEAK POTASH would rise.
      Patience AND being Right paid off in a quad off the 52 week low, and a little bit less from its selection.
What I ponder now is, if our prime candidate in this stampede has more than a double left ?   I think it does but have to wait for the next vignette to unfold next week.

I sat down to read an article on a popular site, and was confronted not by paragraphs, but almost chapters of verbage, that was killing me. BREVITY & CLARITY are 21st century victims of GreenSpam Speak.

I WAS shocked at my revulsion to the tsunami of words directed at me as an investor, my conclusion is

THIS GURU SPEW IS KILLING YOU !!

I know my better half is oft requesting "THE SHORT ANSWER", which I find reasonable, as I dont want to know ALL the details, just what I MUST know, without clutter. Sadly I am getting used to my own writing style, a bit staccato & visual, and sometimes painfully brief. With bullish sentiment at low levels you have to wonder. What is that Mid-Week Resource stock?
